The only flag-bearers for sketch this year were Footlights Trio Phil Wang, Jason Forbes and George Fouracres but their efforts were highly praised. Described as sinister and strange, the trio (already on a high with an earlier success at Sketchfest), were praised by critics for their novel approach to familiar sketch tropes and for breaking new ground within the genre.Follow @daphnecomedy.
