Welsh comedy wizard John Sparkes was one of the stars of the cult Absolutely sketch series and has practically cornered the laughter market in his home country with shows like Barry Welsh is Coming, Pub Quiz (in which he plays cult Absolutely character Frank Hovis) and Jeff Global's Global Probe. Sparkes is continuing to make regular programmes for the mainstream Welsh channels.
