Laconic former accountant Arnold Brown, was among the first acts on stage at the Comedy Store in 1979 and once supported Frank Sinatra at Ibrox. Brown won the prize in this year with musical accompaniment from Michael Parker and Barb Jungr. Both Brown and Jungr still enjoy hectic schedules, as a chansonnier Jungr has played top venues all over the world meanwhile Brown has enjoyed the limelight in films such as Comfort and Joy and Personal Services as well as retaining his cache as a bankable live act.
